HOME (Hall of Mental-Health Experiences)
Creative Director
HOME is a Virtual Reality museum exploring five mental illnesses: Panic Disorder, Schizophrenia, OCD, PTSD, and DPDR. The project seeks to decrease the stigmas surrounding mental health by providing simulations of what someone may experience living with these illnesses.

ABOUT ME

Madeleine (Maddy) Kwan is an interaction designer and digital storyteller. She graduated from Brock University in 2023 from the Interactive Arts and Science program, which focuses on new media and interactive mediums (3D, VR, interactive storytelling), with a minor in Applied Computing and a concentration in Digital Expression.
Madeleine is currently working as a freelance designer focusing on website management/design, UX design, and videography. Previously, she worked at kama.ai as their communications coordinator, managing their social media and writing technical documents for their websites, as a social media manager for companies like EDoxa and TheFastingMethod, as well as a Research Assistant for Professor Danahay’s Virtual Selves VR course.
Her latest project is HOME, a VR museum centred around 5 mental illnesses. As creative director of the project, she has been in charge of overseeing the vision and cohesion across all 5 departments (Design, Art, Sound, Dev and Marketing).
Outside of academics and employment, she spends most of her time getting involved with whatever creative outlet she can. Her main passions lie in photography, film, writing, and music; however, she constantly explores new mediums and gathers inspiration by immersing herself in new technology and artistic expression.
