HOME is a Virtual Reality museum exploring five mental illnesses: Panic Disorder, Schizophrenia, OCD, PTSD, and DPDR. The project seeks to decrease the stigmas surrounding mental health by providing simulations of what someone may experience living with these illnesses. Visitors of the museum will be able to learn about the intricacies and misconceptions of each mental illness as they tour through HOME’s curated exhibits. They will then be led through our specially designed coping room which uses clinical grounding strategies to support visitors after these intense simulations.
Are you ready to take a leap into HOME?
Our core objective is to create an experience for people to understand mental illness better. HOME is about sharing the experience of someone struggling with mental illness whom you do not know but hopefully will understand. The project seeks to offer accurate experiences to foster a greater sense of compassion and understanding. We want to be able to generate empathy through vivid virtual reality experiences. We want to create a project to spur a broader conversation about mental health, which is not talked about enough.
As Creative Director, I lead the creative vision of the project. Through liaison with all 5 departments (Design, Art, Sound, Development, and Marketing), I ensured the project was cohesive and that each part of the puzzle effectively contributed to the final product. Specifically, I lent my knowledge in experiential design and VR design considerations to guide the experience flows
